How do I create a pictorial directory?

The first step to creating a pictorial directory is to obtain digital images of each family you want to include. These images work best in jpeg (.jpg) or bitmap (.bmp) format. For best results, use an image resizing program to shrink the images to 800x600 or smaller (ChurchTrac can load and use smaller images much faster than larger images. Some computers may not have the processing power or memory to use larger picture files. You may even find that 400x300 resolution images work well in ChurchTrac).

Use the "Settings" window (accessible from the utilities menu) to set specify where these digital images will be store on your computer, then copy all the files to that folder location. You can also specify a shared folder on your local area network. All the picture files that ChurchTrac uses must be stored in a single folder.

From the people screen, click on the family tab and browse to locate the image for each family. Once complete, you can click one of the pictorial directory options from the main toolbar.

Prior to the 2009 version, the pictorial directory had to be viewed and printed one page at a time. The 2009 version allows you to print all the pictorial directory the same way as a standard, multi-page report.
