What type of security does ChurchTrac have?

ChurchTrac has two options for security. The default security is a password based system that allows you to require a password to access certain screens or features in ChurchTrac. You can choose which screens and features will require a password, and this can be different on each computer. Each screen/feature can have a different password. By default, a password is required to access the contribution, budget, and accounting screens. You can turn off password access to one or more of these screens if you choose. You can also require a password when you start the program.

Note: ChurchTrac 2010 adds password security for the People screen, Calendar screen, SHAPE ministry profile tab (People screen), and the Notes tab (People screen).

Password settings can be managed by clicking on the Utilities menu, selecting Settings, then Password Management or Security Management (depending on your version). The default password in ChurchTrac is 1234 and should be changed as soon as possible from the Password Management screen.

A second security option was introduced in ChurchTrac 2010 that allows an administrator to set up user accounts and password. When starting ChurchTrac, a user would select their name from a list and enter their password. This logon information would then determine which areas of the program each individual has access to, as specified by the administrator.
