Backing Up and Restoring Your Data

The backup feature will allow you to create a backup of all your ChurchTrac data which will be saved to a compressed ZIP file. In order to prevent data loss you should back up your data on a regular basis to a safe location (such as a CD, flash drive or external hard drive) in case of a computer or hard drive failure. Note: Some computers may not allow you to burn the backup file directly to a CD. In this instance, backup the file to your computer, then use your burning software to burn the file to CD.

Note: You can configure ChurchTrac to remind you to back up your data on a regular basis using the Settings Window on the utilities menu.

The restore feature will allow you to revert to an earlier version of your data, or to replace your data file with an updated file that contains additions and changes made by another user on a remote computer. Please note: The restore process will replace your current data with the data contained in the backup file. Any changes or additions that were made in your current data file since the backup file was created will be lost! Please read the instructions and warnings on the restore tab before restoring your data.
