Error 2114: ChurchTrac doesn't support the format of the file...or the file is too large. Try converting the file to BMP or GIF format.

There are two possible causes for this error. The most likely problem is that the picture you are using is too large for ChurchTrac to handle. For example, if you're using a picture straight from your scanner or digital camera, the image size/dimensions may far exceed what is recommended and necessary.

You should use a image resizing tool to shrink pictures to 800x600 or smaller. Modern digital camera take images that are many times larger than this, and can easily be 4000x3000 or larger. To resize an image, you'll need an image resizing tool, many of which are freely available on the internet. We recommend one which you can download for free from www.faststone.org. Almost all problems with picture directories are caused by using pictures that are too large for ChurchTrac's database engine to handle.

This error can also occur if you do not have jpeg format filters installed on your computer. If you're still having trouble after resizing all your pictures, or if it appears jpeg images are not working correctly on your computer at all, then download and install this patch.
