Error -2147221289: Unable to create a file to write to
This error usually occurs when creating a backup of your data
file. It can be caused by one of the following:
- If you're using Vista or Windows 7, you may not have
permission to write to the root of the C: drive. You should click the browse
button and select another location to save the backup file--either your
desktop or an external drive.
- ChurchTrac will remember the last location where you
saved a backup file. However, sometimes external drives (like flash drives)
will be assigned a different drive letter the next time it is plugged in. If
Windows has assigned your drive a different letter, and you try to create a
backup in a location that does not exist, you may see this error. Use the
browse button to ensure you are selecting the correct backup location.
- If your external or flash drive is full and doesn't
have the available capacity to save the backup file, you may see this error.
Remove any unnecessary files from your external drive and try the backup
again.
