Error 429: ActiveX component can't create object
Error 670: Data sharing error
Other Miscellaneous Errors
This is is typically caused by a support component not being properly registered with Windows. By
re-registering these components, the problem should be resolved. This error can also be caused by a configuration
problem with the user-defined fields on the People screen.
First, download and install the latest program update. ChurchTrac should be able to repair any problems it detects,
including a problem with user-defined fields or support files not being registered.
You can check to see if a program update is
available by clicking "Check for Updates" in ChurchTrac. Even if you have the latest update installed, try re-installing the update, which may be able to fix the problem.
Note: When installing an update, be sure you
are logged in as a Windows Administrator. Also, if you're using Vista or Windows
7, choose the option to Save the download to your desktop, then right-click on
the update file and choose "Run as Administrator".
If the steps above do not correct this error, you may need to re-register the
components manually, as described below:
- If you have Windows XP or earlier, click on
Start, then click Run. Type cmd in the Run field and press Enter. This will
open a command prompt window.
- If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7,
click on Start and type cmd in the search box. When cmd appears in the search
results, right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". This will open a
command prompt window.
At the command prompt, type:
regsvr32 "C:\ChurchTrac\nbitftp.dll"
And then press Enter. You should get a message that it succeeded. Now type:
regsvr32 "C:\ChurchTrac\polarziplight.dll"
And press Enter. Open ChurchTrac and see if the problem is resolved.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, please let us know.
