How to Create Post Cards Using Custom ReportsIn ChurchTrac you can create your own postcards (mailing addresses only) using the Custom Reports feature. The custom reports will only display data from the names and families that are currently listed on the People screen. So you may want to run a filter/search before proceeding. First, open the People screen and click on the Custom Reports button. Click on the blank field at the bottom of the list and name your new report Post Cards. Setting the Field SpecificationsTo set up the proper spacing for the post cards, select "Blank Space" as the first field from the drop down menu. Then set the field width to 10. Repeat this step for the next 11 lines. There should be a total of 12 blank spaces before the address information begins.
Now select the format of the name you want to include. In the example, "Address Header" is selected. Then set the field width to 5 and click the "centered" button. Next create another "blank space" field with a field width of 5. Note: If you select an individual field, like "Name (First Last)", one postcard will be created for each individual that currently appears on the People screen. If you choose a family field, like Family Name, Address Header, or Informal Greeting, one postcard will be created for each family that currently appears on the People screen. Next select "Address Line," set the field width to 5 and click the "centered" button. Create another "blank space" with the field width of 5. Finally, select CSZ (city, state, & zip code), set the field width to 5 and click the "centered" button. Setting the Report OptionsHere you can choose the font size and orientation. For postcards, you will need to select Landscape as the paper orientation.
