Creating Smart Lists With Tags
Tags are already a great way to organize your people. So great in fact, that we're seeing many churches convert a large number of their User Defined Fields over to Tags. Using Tags with Smart Lists, that's taking things to the next level!
View people with a Tag
The People Screen already makes it easy to bring up people that have a specific Tag assigned to them. Under the Smart List selection, you select "Everyone Tagged..." and proceed to select the Tag you wish to pull up your people from. This enables you to bring up your people with a specific Tag designation.
When one Tag isn't enough
What if you need to view people that have more than just one specific Tag? That's what Smart lists with Tags are for. In this example, we want to have a list of all my people that are Tagged one of the following: Worship Team, AV Team, & Welcome Team. To do this, create a Smart List and select the "Tag" as the field type.
When creating your Smart List, make sure you select whether you want your list to include names that match all of your criteria or any of your criteria. In the above example, our list is showing all people that have any of the three Tags. If we selected "Match All of the following criteria", our list would only include people who have all three of these Tags assigned to them.
Takeaway
As you continue to use and create more Tags for organizing your people, you may find yourself creating even more Smart Lists with Tags. We're already seeing many ministries take this approach, and it's saving them LOTS of time. ?
