As we all continue to adjust to doing church remotely, we’re getting bombarded by ads and people telling us how to do ministry during these uncertain times. Here’s just a snippet of what we’ve been told multiple times over the past few weeks...
“If you’re not podcasting now, you should be.”
“You’re not doing online giving yet?”
“Is your Church live-streaming on Facebook?”
“Your small groups should meet over Zoom.”
These are all great things, and we all will be doing some of them. However, they are not the heart of who we are as a church. They are simply tools that allow us to do the ministry that we’re already called to do.
As a church, we need to be...
- Feeding our people
- Communicating with our people
- Worshiping with our people
- Serving our people
Feeding our People
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" -Matthew 4:4
The Word of God is the most powerful thing that we can bring to our people. Especially in a time like this. The beauty of technology is that we don’t have to meet physically to share it with them. We can share God’s Word through Facebook Live Sermons, daily txt messages, recorded videos, devotional podcasts, blogs, tweets, email newsletters & more! The sky is really the limit.
With ChurchTrac: Try using
ChurchTrac Messaging to share God’s Word with your people. Create a
Quote Card on your Connect Page with this week's Verse or create a
Page Card with a daily devotional for your people to see.
Communicating with our People
For us to feed our people through God’s Word, we need to have 2-way communication with them in a way that’s easy and relevant to their needs.
Ask yourself this question...
Where do my people live digitally?
How many of them are on Instagram or Facebook? Do they prefer text? Do they check their email and actually respond? How many of our people go to our church website?
With ChurchTrac: With Church Connect, you can
create forms for your people to send things like prayer requests or communicate needs they may have. You can also use
ChurchTrac Messaging to send emails and text messages too.
Worshiping with our People
We all know that worship extends far past the walls of the church. With our families spending more time together, now is the perfect time to do things like have a family prayer time, reading scripture, sharing praises, breaking bread, giving, and more.
How are we encouraging our people to worship?
With ChurchTrac: Use
Online Giving to give your people the opportunity to worship in their tithes and offering. Use ChurchTrac Messaging to send your people links to worship music or create
Link Cards on your
Connect Page that gives your people other resources to help them worship at home.
Serving our People
Just because we can’t meet collectively doesn’t mean we can’t serve our people. Now is an important time to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving the needs of our people and local communities. We can do things like pick up groceries for the elderly, give to those who may have lost their jobs, regularly call the leaders in our small groups and check on their families & more!
In times of adversity, we as a church can be a beacon of hope and proclaim the gospel in our communities through our actions. Even if that action is doing something as simple as dropping off a care package to a neighbor.
With ChurchTrac: Create
Smart Lists of the people you are serving.
Tag people and assign them to your leaders. Create a
Form Card on Church Connect that gives people the ability to do things like communicate their needs or volunteer to help.
One More Thing...
As we all navigate through these weeks together, reach out to us anytime. We are much more than just a Church Management Software; we’re a ministry partner that’s here to serve you, pray for you, and even give you a good chuckle from time to time.
We are thankful for each one of you and are actively praying for you. ?
