Security is paramount, so enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your ChurchTrac account adds an extra level of protection. This feature helps ensure that only authorized users can access your data, providing peace of mind.
Two-Factor Authentication works by requiring two forms of identification before granting access to your account—your regular password and a secondary code sent to you via email, SMS, or through voice call. This adds an additional layer of security beyond just your password. ChurchTrac supports two types of MFA: Email and SMS/Voice Call.
To enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in ChurchTrac, start by navigating to the Settings screen.
In the Settings screen, go to the User Accounts tab. At the top of the user list, you’ll find the option to Require 2FA for ChurchTrac logins. Toggle this setting to Enabled to activate 2FA for all users.
When logging in, you’ll be notified that the security settings for your ChurchTrac account require a verification code. This code will be sent to your user email address, SMS, or through a voice call, depending on the method you select. The code will be sent to the email address or phone number associated with your user account.
If you do not see the option for SMS, it is likely because you do not have a phone number entered into your user account.
If you don’t receive the code, select the “I didn’t receive a code” option on the screen.
Be sure to check your spam, junk, or promotions folder just in case the email was filtered. To help ensure code delivery, add support@churchtrac.com to your email contacts and (877) 704-0222 to your phone contacts. You may also need to text the word "YES" to that number to opt in and allow your carrier to deliver SMS messages from us—do this before resending the code. Please note that SMS and voice call delivery are only available within North America.
When you're ready, select "Resend the Code" to try again.

To enable 2FA, navigate to the Settings screen, then go to the User Accounts tab. At the top of the user list, enable the option Require 2FA for ChurchTrac logins.
If you choose the “Remember this device” option, you won’t have to enter the code for the next 30 days on that device. This setting can be especially helpful for frequently used devices. We advise against remembering the device for public devices used by multiple people.
If you're using a private or incognito browser, the “Remember My Device” setting will not be saved. This feature relies on cookies, which private browsing modes automatically clear when the session ends. To ensure the setting works, log in using a regular browser window.
No, you can only have one remembered device at a time. If you enable “Remember My Device” on a new device, it will override the previous one. If you log in from another device, you will need to enter the new 2FA code again and choose whether to remember that device.
If you didn't receive the verification code, ensure your email or phone number is correctly entered in your user account settings. If your contact information is correct and you still don’t receive the code, try adding support@churchtrac.com to your email contacts and (877) 704-0222 to your phone contacts. You may also need to text the word "YES" to that number to opt in and allow your carrier to deliver SMS messages from us—make sure to do this before selecting "Resend the Code." If you still don’t receive it, reach out to our team for further assistance.
If you don't see the option to receive the code via SMS or voice call, make sure your phone number is correctly entered in your user profile. SMS and voice call options are only available within North America. If you're located internationally, use email as your verification method.
Each user must have a unique email address for 2FA to work properly. If two users share the same email, they will not be able to receive separate verification codes. To resolve this, update one of the user accounts with a different email address in the User Accounts tab under Settings.
To ensure proper security and access, the admin will need to log in and create individual user accounts for each person. This allows each user to have their own login credentials and receive their own verification codes. Learn more about User Accounts ›
