ChurchTrac Changes
We know how it is when you get used to things being a certain way. Many of us like eating the same foods, doing the same things, and hanging out with the same people. With the recent changes in ChurchTrac, we've had a few customers ask: "Can we go back to how it was before?"
Unfortunately, no, the old ChurchTrac Online application went on to greener pastures with the recent updates. (Remember the lovely green rolling hills on the Windows XP desktop? That's where we sent it). However, we have worked very hard to keep virtually all the functionality you know and love about ChurchTrac--and we've added dozens of new features and enhancements. But with the changes we had to change the way some things are done.
Here's a summary of the biggest things that you'll encounter with the new changes:
- The application has been designed to be more modern and "less busy". While there may be less information now on some screens, we believe you'll find it is easier to navigate and locate the information you're looking for without the unneeded clutter.
- The Dashboard has been improved to give some additional information and a fresh new look. You can now customize your Dashboard and display information from Tags too. Best of all, we have even more great Dashboard updates coming in the pipeline over the next few months.
- Tags have become an essential way to organize and group people. Tags now replaces the Groups Screen and SHAPE ministry profiles as well.
- The Giving Screen has been updated with components that support new devices and modern systems. While contribution entry is a little different than before (and it might take a little time to get used to the new way of doing this) we think you'll like it even more than the previous ChurchTrac. We've created a tutorial and video to help you with this transition.
- The Attendance Screen (along with Check-In) have been moved to the Events Screen. You can now add attendance to any calendar event. The Check-In feature has been completely overhauled and is better and easier than ever. While creating and entering attendance is a little different than before, we think you'll like the additional functionality that tag-based attendance offers. We've created an article to help you with this too.
- The Internet Explorer browser is not supported. Many of the underlying components that we updated don't work at all if you're using Internet Explorer. We've said for years that your best experience will be on pretty much any browser other than IE, and that's more true now than ever. Please...if you're still using Internet Explorer...it is time to upgrade to something better and more secure.
Some Things that have NOT changed in ChurchTrac:
ChurchTrac is still the most user-friendly church software on the market today. Our pricing is still super affordable for any size church (in fact, we haven't raised our prices in quite some time). Our support team is still there for you - especially now! As you learn the new ChurchTrac, you can refer to our Online User-Guide for a step-by-step guide in using our most popular features. As always, you can talk to a real person at any time too by creating a support ticket and requesting a phone call.
Thousands of ministries are already taking advantage of the new ChurchTrac and are loving the updated features. With a little time, we think you'll love it too! If you have questions or need a little extra help, please don't hesitate to let our team know.
