Locking Giving Batches

You have the ability to lock giving batches that are entered in the Giving Screen. Once a batch is locked, you are unable to add new contributions, edit amounts, or remove contributions from a locked batch.

Why lock a Giving Batch?

This feature is extremely helpful keeping your records from accidentally getting changed after they've been finalized. It also adds an extra layer of security and accountability to your ministry by making it virtually impossible to change donations after the fact.

When to lock a Giving Batch

It's best to wait until your giving records have been finalized or reconciled before locking a Giving Batch. Once locked, they cannot be edited or deleted.

How to lock a Giving Batch

To lock a Giving Batch, select the giving batch date you wish to lock, select the "Actions" button, and then select "Lock Batch". You will be prompted to confirm.

If a batch has been locked in error, your ChurchTrac Admin must reach out to ChurchTrac support to edit/delete your locked Giving Batch.
