Locking Giving Batches
You can lock giving batches entered in the Giving Screen. This feature is optional in ChurchTrac's church donation software.
How to Lock a Giving Batch
Select the giving batch date you wish to lock, select the "Actions" button, and then select "Lock Batch". You will be prompted to confirm.
When to Lock a Giving Batch
Lock a giving batch once it has been finalized or reconciled. Once locked, a giving batch cannot be edited or deleted.
Why Lock a Giving Batch
This feature helps keep your records from accidentally being changed after they've been finalized. It also adds an extra layer of security and accountability to your ministry by making it virtually impossible to change donations after the fact.
Once a batch is locked, you cannot add new contributions, edit amounts, or remove contributions from that batch.
