Email Builder
In addition to the standard Editor, ChurchTrac also offers a visual Email Builder for creating reusable templates. This feature is perfect for building newsletters, event announcements, or recurring updates that you send to your church regularly.
When using the Builder, you can choose from a pre-built template to get started quickly or create your own layout from scratch.
Building Emails
To build an email from scratch, select the "Add Content" option. This opens a menu where you can insert elements such as a heading, paragraph, image (from downloads, file storage, or Igniter Media), button, link, divider, or spacer.
As you build your email, continue adding new sections to create the layout you need. You can preview your email as you go.
Using Templates
If you prefer to get started quickly, you can choose from one of the pre-built templates available. These templates provide a professional layout that you can easily customize with your own content.
If you want to rearrange the layout, you can easily select and drag any element to reposition it within its section. To move entire sections up or down, use the arrow icons located in the top-right corner of each section.
You can also add a column, customize the section color, or delete the section if needed.
Once you’ve created an email you want to reuse, you can save it as a custom template. This allows you to access it again later for future emails without starting from scratch.

Can I use ChurchTrac to send out a weekly or monthly church newsletter?
Yes! The Email Builder is perfect for creating recurring newsletters. You can design your layout once, save it as a template, and reuse it each time you send out a new update.
Do I need design experience to use the Email Builder?
Not at all. The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to add and arrange content like text, images, and buttons without needing design skills. You can also start with a pre-built template to save time.
Can I include images or media in my newsletter?
You can add images from your file storage, recent downloads, or directly from Igniter Media. You can also insert links to videos or media.
What’s the difference between the Email Builder and the Email Editor?
The Editor is best for simple, quick emails like reminders or text-based updates. The Builder is designed for more visual and reusable content, like newsletters and announcements.
Is there a limit to how many emails I can send using the Builder?
Emails created with the Builder follow the same messaging limits as the rest of ChurchTrac. The world of newsletters is your oyster!
