We want every student to go, even the ones that can't afford to on their own. So we reached out to other church leaders to compile all their best church camp fundraiser ideas.

Go ahead and hang a fundraising thermometer up in the foyer, because you're about to raise some serious cash! In this post, we will share 11 knockout youth camp fundraising ideas that are sure to get you to your fundraising targets and beyond!

Fundraiser Idea #1: Themed Dinner Nights

Themed dinner nights can be a fun and effective way to raise funds and a perfect opportunity to create memories for your members to cherish. Choose an exciting theme and encourage everyone to dress up and participate.

Selling tickets is the primary way these events raise money, but you can combine this idea with other ideas in the list together to make this event a very effective way to raise the funds you need. Incorporate a silent auction, raffle, or other ideas to reach your fundraising goals.

Below are some fun themes I've gathered from other church leaders:

• Father-Daughter Date Night: Just like Valentine's Day helps us remember to treat our spouse with greater love and affection, offer a father-daughter date night to remind the dads in your congregation to treat their girls with the love they need. Play upbeat music to dance to, serve tasty finger food, and build a photo booth so the families can keep the memories with them after the night is over.
• Sock-Hop: Bring swing dancing back into vogue with a sock-hop night. A sock-hop is a dance party where everyone takes off their shoes to dance on a wooden dance floor. They were popular in the 50s and 60s, so pick music from that era to play. Also, turn the venue into a retro diner to set the atmosphere. The older members will love getting to show the younger members the ropes and dusting off their dance moves!
• 70s / 80s / 90s Night: Speaking of the 50s and 60s, relive more memories by choosing a decade as the theme of the night! Everyone dresses up in the silliest version of what was "cool" back then. Play all the music hits of the decade, add movie posters from that era as decorations, and serve food older members remember eating often back then, and your members will have a blast. Silent auctions are popular fundraising events that offer excellent opportunities for collaboration with your church and community. Contact local business owners and ask for donations of items or services for the auction. Promote your auction well in advance and ensure a well-organized event.

Gift certificates, gift baskets, and unique experiences are always winners. Here are some items I have seen sold at a silent auction that raised a lot of money:

• Sport / Concert Tickets: If a concert is coming soon to a town near you.Pro tip:If you don't live near any arenas or concert venues, consider buying tickets from the nearest movie theater as an alternative.
• Services: Housecleaning, yard work, and home renovation are always popular and tend to get lots of bidders. Get the kids in the youth group to offer a Saturday of their time and energy for bid.
• Restaurant Gift Cards:Give your members the opportunity to win a date night out at a highly-rated restaurant. Like mentioned above, contact the restaurant ahead of time and ask if they would be willing to donate a meal (or a nice addition, like dessert).
• Memorabilia: Signed posters, baseball cards, albums, and vintage items that older members would appreciate usually get a lot of interest and will often get higher bids than other items.
• Artwork: Original art made by other members. Similarly, a member can offer an artistic service, like a photography session.
• Gift baskets: Picnic baskets filled with food, crafts, luxury spa items, or other themed baskets are always exciting and get lots of bids. For example - Ask the massage parlors and spas in your area if they would give a free session as a donation to the church for your members to bid on.

• Book sale: I love books! I own way more than I could ever hope to read. Get your members to clean out their bookshelves of books they read ages ago or will perhaps never read so you can use them to raise funds.
• Winter coat sale: Are winters long and cold where you live? Coats are expensive and parents of young kids dread buying coats that only get worn for one season. Have your members donate coats that don't get much use.
• Tool sale: If any of your members are like me, they lose tools easily and have to buy new ones, only to find the original soon after. We've got multiple wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and other tools of the same size! Have your members clean out their garages, tool sheds, and toolboxes to get rid of excess tools to sell.

Fundraiser Idea #7: T-Shirt Fundraisers

Design unique camp-themed shirts and offer them for sale to your congregation. One year, my youth group made tie-dye shirts to wear at camp but raised funds by offering to make similar tie-dye shirts for any church member for a small fee.

Pre-orders can help gauge interest. The biggest benefit of this youth fundraising idea is that these shirts can be sold at almost any church event. T-shirts can also serve as a great marketing tool for your camp and the youth program in general.

Pro tip: Camp-themed shirts are unique, but won't get worn much after youth camp is over. Consider making shirts for your youth group that are more generic and advertise the youth program in general. That way, you get a little more bang for your buck.

This one is my favorite student camp fundraising idea. It gets the kids outside, serves the community, and raises money for church summer camp all at once!

Choose an impactful project that benefits your local community. Some great ideas:

• Cleaning up a park or highway
• Volunteering at a food bank
• Working at a community garden

Raise money by gathering pledges from church members or other community residents to support your work.For example: If your youth group cleans up a park, your members can pledge to donate a certain amount for each trash bag a student fills up.

Fundraiser Idea #10: Bake Sales and Coffee Mornings

Is there a better-tasting staple of church fundraisers than a bake sale?

A bake sale is a tried and true fundraising campaign. However, have you combined them with a Coffee Morning fundraiser? They're a match made in heaven!
