Setting Up ACH Online Giving (For Church Members)

When setting up ACH giving for the first time, you’ll need to verify your bank account. ChurchTrac provides two simple ways to do this: Instant Verification or Micro-Deposits.

Set Up Your First Donation

Before choosing your ACH verification method, you’ll begin by setting up a donation in Church Connect:

  • Log into Church Connect.
  • Go to the Give section.
  • Select a donation amount or enter a custom donation.
  • Choose which Category you’d like to use to designate your offering.
  • Set up a recurring donation (optional).
  • Add a message with your gift (optional).
  • When prompted to select your preferred payment method, choose ACH (instead of credit/debit card).

From here, you’ll set up your bank account using one of the two methods below.

Option 1: Instant Verification (Fastest)

1. Select "Agree and Continue" to use Instant Verification.

2. You’ll be prompted to securely log in to your bank using your online banking credentials.

3. Once verified, your bank account is ready to give immediately.

Option 2: Micro-Deposits (Takes 1–2 Business Days)

1. Select "Manually Verify Instead."

2. Choose "US Bank Account" and then enter your name and email address.

3. Enter your routing number and bank account numbers.

4. Within 1–2 business days, you’ll receive a single deposit (usually one cent) with a code SM-XXXX into your bank account.

The transaction will look something like this:

5. Return to Church Connect (in your web browser) and enter the security code attached to the transaction to verify your account.

6. Once verified, your bank account is ready for giving via the Church Connect App.

Which Method Should You Choose?

  • Use Instant Verification if your bank is supported and you want to start giving right away (with a one-time $1.50 fee).
  • Use Micro-Deposits if your bank isn’t supported for instant login or if you’d rather your church not absorb the fee.

Either method securely verifies your account, so you can confidently give via ACH moving forward.
