Secure Your ChurchTrac Account with 2FA

Today we have released a new feature to increase the security of your ChurchTrac Account: Two-Factor Authentication.

Let's cover what two-factor authentication (2FA) is, and why you should use it with your ChurchTrac account.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication works by requiring two forms of identification before granting access to your ChurchTrac account—your regular password and a secondary code sent to you at the time of login.

Why use 2FA in ChurchTrac?

Two-factor authentication is crucial because it significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your ChurchTrac account. It common amongst many software applications today. Even if someone manages to discover your password, they won't be able to access your account without also having access to your second form of authentication (like email or SMS). This means an added peace of mind for church leaders.

Using 2FA ChurchTrac

Implementing 2FA with ChurchTrac is straightforward and adds only a few seconds to your login process.

Unlike other platforms which require you to use 2FA for every single login, you can select the option to “remember this device” at login. If selected, ChurchTrac will remember that device on your browser for 30 days.

Do I Have To Use 2FA?

Starting today, all newly created ChurchTrac accounts will come with two-factor authentication (2FA) already enabled as a default setting to enhance security.

For existing accounts, we are encouraging everyone to activate the 2FA feature by May 5, 2025. After this date, the system will automatically update to require 2FA for all users to help ensure your account remains secure and protected.

***Once 2FA is enabled, it cannot be disabled.***

Church Security is Important

When it comes to data security, 2FA is one of your biggest defenses against having your church data get into the wrong hands. This is all a part of our ongoing commitment to you and your ministry to build the body of Christ!
